Description
This razor handle was handcrafted by Robert Quinn from Pistachio wood that originated in Central Asia and the Middle East. Known for their edible nuts, the wood of Pistachio trees is uniquely beautiful, though not often seen or used in wooden objects. The Pistachio tree is long-lived, possibly up to 300 years and each tree averages providing about 50,000 nuts every two years. The improper storage of pistachio products in bulk containers has been known to start fires. Because of their high fat and low water contents, the nuts and especially kernels are prone to self-heating and spontaneous combustion when stored with oil-soaked fiber or fibrous materials.
This razor handle is 3.25 inches long and weighs 1.4 ounces.
